Notre Dame - description and pictures and prices
Notre Dame was completed only in 1345 its construction was arduous one. The result is an overwhelming building with towers 128 meters long and 69 meters high.
The bell tower, which reaches 90 meters, was added in the 19th century by Viollet-le-Duc. Notre Dame owns several round windows, but the 13th century is the most impressive with a diameter of 13.1 meters.
Notre Dame has two organs: Orga Mare has 5 and 56 note keyboards, 111 registers and 7374 pipes and choir organ has two keyboards and 1,840 pipes.
The pillars of the east were 15 feet tall. The western part comprises 3 huge arcade and gallery kings.
During the restoration, a number of sculptures and inside were moved or destroyed. Only in the 19th century cathedral was completed by architect Eugène Emmanuel Viollet Parisian-le-Duc. In the last century no new restoration works between 1991 and 2001.
About 13 million people worldwide annually visit the cathedral (an average of 30,000 people per day). In the days leading are over 50,000 pilgrims and visitors who enter the cathedral.
In front of the cathedral, is the "kilometer 0" of Paris.
The cathedral is open daily between 7:45 am and 6:45 pm

Audio guides are available between 9:30 am and 6:00 pm (Sunday between 1:00 pm and 6:00 pm) and the fee is € 5.
